Quilting on My HQ16

Have been enjoying quilting on my HQ16 so much I'm afraid I have neglected my blog. So here's an up-date. Quilted two more quilts. One is the Autumn Leaves wall Hanging quilt I posted about earlier when piecing it and the other one is a pinwheel quilt I designed and cut with the Accuquilt dies. The autumn Leaves quilt I rolled on the rollers the typical way but the pink pinwheel quilt I had to float on as it was already sandwiched with quilt basting spray prior to getting the new machine. They both turned out nice. I was very pleased with the quilting although it is not perfect by any means. But the one I floated I thought actually was the easiest to quilt. I had one issue with tension until I realized there was a tiny thread in the bobbin case. Once removed, it went back to beautiful stitches. Now in the process of finishing the pin wheel quilt with prairie points. The autumn leaves quilt I have to add the binding. The Autumn Leaves quilt would have been easier had I not decided to quilt all four of the borders each separately in different colored thread. In hindsight, I don't think it even added anything special to do it that way as it all looks the same to me now. I'm so happy with my new machine. It makes the quilting so easy compared to my domestic machine I was using. Only three more quilts that are ready to quilt and then I will be caught up with the quilting. I'm also in the process of finishing my Pajama Game quilt blocks and ready to start cutting another quilt that also has some applique on it. Guess applique is my favorite as I'm always drawn to those quilt patterns. Added some pics. Thanks for stopping by my blog.

  2. Thanks! A lot of the fabric in this quilt was just some scraps. I made the pattern up myself and cut it with the go die machine. Finally done with the prairie points. How I hate hand sewing. Hope to post a pic. Ty for the support. Sharon
