Pickin Wildflowers Table Runner

While straightening up my sewing room in anticipation of making another quilt I found this little table runner pattern & kit. So I decided to make it. The pattern is marked Little Scraps from This & That. Pickin Wildflowers #066. I purchased it as a kit at the quilt show a couple years ago. It came with a Dandelion Girl Charm pack by Moda home and enough fabric in dark blue for the border.  I like the fabric. It looks like reproduction 1930's fabric. It's an easy pattern and has two appliquéd flowers on it. I sewed the body of it this afternoon. Hopefully tomorrow I can sew the flying geese units and add the appliqué flowers. Then it will be ready to have the batting and back added. 12" x 28"

Finished this small table runner today. I added a few pictures of it finished and the applique. This is a great pattern for some one starting to learn applique. I used red, yellow and blue Moda Home fabric on the backing. Used the self binding method to finish it. Also added some little buttons to the center of the flowers. Machine stitched on the front. I will be spraying it with scotch guard  fabric protector for needlecraft and sewing items as I do all the table runners. I'm adding buy it now buttons and this will be one of the items for sale.

  2. hi Janice, Thanks I love that fabric. I wonder if it is still available at the local quilt shops. I found a really nice pattern last night (after I already started another quilt yesterday) that calls for that same 30's repo fabric. It is a huge quilt with baskets that are pieced and then each basket has three appliqued flowers in it. I would love to make it in the fabric it showed. Will have to get a pic of it. Have a nice day.
