A Tribute to Grandmother

I'm glad you stopped by my new quilting and sewing blog. Hopefully you will return to share your sewing and quilting experiences or photos with me. A tribute to my (our) grandma that loved to quilt and sew. She made quilts for all her family. Several of which I was the glad recipient. Always willing to set aside her quilting to sew on a button or hem a dress for me. There was forever a quilt frame set up where she patiently hand quilted her quilts. Whenever I'm discouraged with my own quilting abilities, I get a quilt out that grandma Orpha made and see that it may not be "perfect" by some standards but it was perfect to me and I'm encouraged.

I have added pictures of a few of my quilts and other sewing projects. I'm a self taught quilter having started to quilt in the summer of 2008. I have pieced and quilted each quilt pictured. I occasionally make other things for fun and to sell. Bib aprons for children and women, pillows, tea cozies, and receiving blankets.

You will notice that I also make quilts for my grandchildren carrying on the family tradition.

I'm a fan of Patsy Thompson and have a link to a short video she has that includes a great way to sandwich quilts and other quilting tips.

I'm just now in the testing stage so please come back soon. New content to be added every few days.

Please feel free to send me your photos of projects and leave a comment and say Hi.
